Nations of Darkness Tier List – Best Heroes Ranked

In Nations of Darkness, one of the most fascinating strategy mobile games released in 2023, the success of players depends largely on the heroes they collect, upgrade, and deploy. While most players may have their own personal preference for which heroes are good, others may require guidance in deciding which heroes are best for their team composition and strategy, considering that there are almost 70 heroes released in the game so far. To help players make the most of their teams, we have put together a tier list of the best heroes currently available in Nations of Darkness.

How did we Rank the heroes?

When we created this tier list for Nations of Darkness, we considered the heroes’ base stats, their roles in combat, and the buff provided by their Skills, but mostly the last skill, which is the only Skill that offers combat bonuses for the leading troops. The base stats are an important deciding factor because they help us understand how powerful a hero can be once fully upgraded.

The rarity of the heroes was also taken into account because there is a big difference between them in terms of stats and the number of skills and skill buffs. We then evaluated all the heroes from all factions and ranked them accordingly, from the best overall heroes (S-Tier) to the less effective ones (C-Tier).

You will also find 4 tables at the bottom of this guide, one table for each faction, with all the heroes listed in order of strength. This way, you can compare their stats more easily.

S-Tier: Best heroes from all Factions

These are the overall best heroes from all four factions in Nations of Darkness. They have the highest stats and a great combination of abilities that complement each other perfectly, making them an ideal choice for any team that is looking to gain power in this game.

At the top of our S-Tier list, we have Leila, who is the best Werewolf hero in Nations of Darkness due to her high Attack stats and her Burst role, capable of dealing massive damage in an instant.

A-Tier: Still good hero choices

These heroes are slightly less strong than those from the previous tier but are still perfectly viable for most teams. They have a good balance of stats and skills and can still make a great addition to your team. At the top of our A-Tier list, we have Malenia, which is the most powerful Vampire hero as she can deal great damage. Minnes XVII is also the best tank Vampire hero due to his high HP and troop defense buffs.

B-Tier: Average but useful heroes

This list includes overall the best Epic heroes. They might not be the strongest in Nations of Darkness, but they still have their uses, especially if you don’t have any of the legendary heroes yet. At the top of our B-Tier list, we have Stein, who is the most powerful epic hero of the Hunter faction.

C-Tier: Below-average heroes, good for beginners

These heroes are quite weak and not recommended for most teams, but they are still good choices for beginners who don’t have access to better heroes yet. These heroes are not a good choice for tough battles, but they are still good for gathering. At the top of this list, we have Malenkov, a Werewolf hero which performs best among all the Exceptional rarity heroes.

How to create the best team of heroes in Nations of Darkness

The best way to create a great team of heroes in Nations of Darkness is by using the examples included in this list as a starting point. From there, you can experiment with different heroes and team compositions to find what works best for you, best on the type of enemies you are facing.

For Abyssal Fortress Explore stages, as we mentioned in the Nations of Darkness guide, you should always use a full team of heroes of the same faction, so you can benefit from the additional Attack and Health bonuses.

The composition should be a mix of offensive (Burst and Multy-Hit, or Balanced) and defensive heroes (Tank), as well as a support hero, to help boost the others. I would personally not include more than one support/healer or a tank, but you should use the strongest heroes that you have recruited so far, prioritizing Legendary and Epic heroes.

Best Vampire Heroes Ranked

The Vampire faction is neck-to-neck with the Werewolf faction as far as offensive capability is concerned. They have some of the strongest heroes in Nations of Darkness, with powerful offensive capabilities. Their favorite units are the Shooters as they benefit from a +5% attack.

The Werewolf faction is known for its strong offensive capabilities and their heroes have some of the highest Attack stats in Nations of Darkness. Their favorite units are the Drivers, which benefit from a +5% attack. This faction is also useful for those looking to focus more on training units as they will benefit from a +5% Troop Training Speed as well.
