Created by the same company behind the famous King of Avalon mobile strategy game, Guns of Glory is one of the most fascinating mobile games, you’ll ever play. Its pirate-themed elements and storyline make the game quite engaging, and on top of that, it has plenty of rich content that will keep you captivated for hours.

Our Guns of Glory guide includes helpful tips and tricks to help new players start their journey most efficiently and improve their gaming experience.

Learning to protect your Estate and resources

In Guns of Glory, your entire gaming activity rotates around collecting and using resources. There are 4 types of primary resources in this game, Food, Wood, Iron, and Silver. In the early game, you will have access only to two of them, Food and Wood, which are also the most essential.

Warehouse resource protection cap

Also, in the early game, you will be protected by a Peace Shield, which means that other players won’t be able to attack you and plunder your hard-earned resources. But once this shield expires, other players may begin to scout you, and if they see you have lots of unprotected resources, they most certainly raid you.

There are multiple things you could do to avoid this, but the most important ones are upgrading the Warehouse and the Wall. The higher the level of your Warehouse is, the more resources you can protect from enemy raids. On the other hand, the Wall increases your Estate defense and makes it harder for your enemies to successfully raid it.

As you can see in the above screenshot, currently my Warehouse is level 7 and I have a 270,000 resource protection cap. This means that if I keep my resources (displayed at the top) equal or below this number whoever attacks my estate won’t be able to loot them.

Enable the Resource Collect All

Resource collect all enabled Guns of Glory

This option will save you a lot of time. By enabling this option, you only need to tap one type of resource production structure and it will harvest all the resources of the same type from all structures. This is very handy because you will have multiple Farms and Lumberyards, and without it, you need to tap the resource bubble on each structure.

To enable this option, tap your avatar on the top-left corner, and tap Settings. Next, press the Game Settings button, scroll down until you see “Resource Collect All” and switch it on.

Focus on Campaign Chapters and Missions

Completing Campaign Chapter 8 Guns of Glory

Campaign Chapters are the most important type of activities that you should take part in, especially if you are a beginner to this game. There are 8 Chapters in total and you should complete them as soon as possible because they offer great rewards.

While the missions included in each chapter only include Lord XP, you do get a valuable reward at the end of each Chapter, which includes Gold, speedups, resources, units, and other essential items. You can check your Campaign progress by tapping the open book icon on the bottom-left corner of your screen.

Main Quests

Next to this icon, you have the Daily and Main Missions page, which also offers amazing rewards. The first tab, the Main Quests, is split into two parts, Main Quests, and Growth Quests. The Main Quests include tasks mostly related to constructing and upgrading buildings.

The Growth Quests offer tasks related to the general development of your Estate, such as training troops, gathering resources, upgrading your Lord level, and so on. However, both offer the same type of rewards which include resources, Lord XP, and sometimes Speedups.

Daily Quests

The second tab is the Daily Quests, which includes various quests that can be completed on a daily basis. The majority of these quests offer resources Speedups and Activity Points. These points are automatically used to fill the progress bar displayed at the top of this page, which includes 7 chests.

These chests can only be opened by collecting a certain number of points, ranging from 10 points for the first chest, and up to 280 points for the seventh chest, which offers the best rewards among all chests.

Keep upgrading your best guards

It is quite obvious that the higher the level of your guards, the better your chances of winning battles you have in this game. But to get the most out of your Guard Badges, the items required to level up your guards, you should prioritize the best Guns of Glory Guards.

This is why is necessary to recruit new guards regularly and not spend all your badges on the first guards/heroes you get.

Collecting the First Recruitment reward
Collecting the First Recruitment reward

Another great thing about recruiting new guards is that you can also claim a free reward for each guard you recruit for the first time, which includes an Officer. This essential reward is required to level up the guard’s skills.

To claim this reward, tap the newly recruited guard from the Guards page. Next, tap the little paper scroll icon visible at the bottom, and after that, the officer avatar visible at the top of the Bio section.

Enhance your Airship regularly

Enhancing the Airship in Guns of Glory

Your Airship is as much as important as your guards and units in this game and can significantly contribute to your combat outcome. This unique scientific wonder has plenty of powerful features provided by each of its 4 elements that can be found by tapping the Enhance button.

Each Element has multiple levels and you should consider upgrading them so you can unlock more features that will increase the Airship’s power. Once you push all 4 Elements to level 10, your Airship will reach level 2, which improves its stats and unlocks a new fancy skin.

But this is not the only thing that can improve your Airship. You should also consider leveling up the Airship Dock, which will reward you with Precision Parts, special items required for enhancing the Airship’s Elements.

Clear the ruins around your castle

As you level your castle, more buildings become available to construct. Make sure you check the area around your castle after each level increase and clean the ruins. All you need to do is to tap and hold a ruin slot and collect the resource items. After that a new building slot becomes available. Tap it and place a new building from the menu.

Prioritize Economy Talents and Techs

We all know how important is to have a powerful kingdom with unbeatable guards and troops, and this makes it the top priority for most of us. However, as a beginner to Guns of Glory, it is a better strategy to focus on improving the economic system first.

This will make things much easier in the long run because it will ensure you never run out of resources whether is for upgrading buildings, training troops, or researching new techs.

There are two major economy-related trees you can improve. The first one is the Economy Talent tree, which can be found under your Lord profile page, on the right side column. On that page, you can tap the Talent Points option and it will take you to a page with 3 tabs: War, Economy, and Balance.

The one you should spend your talent points, in the beginning, is the Economy tab. It will improve resource productivity and gathering for your troops. Each talent requires one talent point, which is offered every time you increase your estate/city level.

The second Economy tree is located inside the Academy building. This tech tree includes features similar to the Economy talent tree, but a bit more advanced. Researching techs requires resources and specific Academy levels, so make sure you level up this building regularly as well.

Become an Alliance member

As with the majority of mobile games of this genre, you have the possibility to join an Alliance and take part in various events and activities with other players from around the world. It’s also a good way to make new friends and allies in this game, but the biggest advantages are the protection and help you get from other players and the variety of rewards.

Of course, you could play solo but your progress in this game will be delayed a lot. That’s because players without an alliance are the first and most targeted by other players.

On the other hand, if you are lucky to join one of the top-ranking alliances, you will be protected from enemy attacks because these alliances have a NAP (non-aggression pact) on most servers. And the good news is that you also get a 200 Gold reward for joining one for the first time.

Improve your Marches

Unlocking the second guard slot

One of the most important things you could do to improve your marches is to unlock the second guard slot. This becomes available when your castle reaches level 10, and it will greatly increase your formation’s overall power, and allow you to challenge stronger opponents, which results in better rewards.

Besides the things that could increase your march’s power such as upgrading your guards, training higher tier troops, and enhancing the Airship, you should also unlock the second march. This way you can send multiple marches at once to gather resources or attack different enemies.

The second march slot can be unlocked easily by researching the March Slot 1 tech from the Combat Tech tree in the Academy building. March Slots 2 and 3, however, will take you quite some time because there are a lot of techs and requirements before them.

Lastly, you should also create some formation presets by using the flags you see in the above screenshot. This will save you a lot of time as you won’t have to choose the guards and troops each time you send your marches to do something. You can create these by visiting the Drill Ground building, located on the west side of your city.

Rename your Lord Profile and pick a portrait

Changing the lord name and portrait Guns of Glory

As a new player in Guns of Glory, one of the first things you should do after finishing the mini tutorial is to give your Lord profile a name. This allows you to stand out from the crowd because the game automatically assigns a random generic name to each new account.

On top of that, it will make it easier for your allies and other players to remember you on your server, as well as on the chat. Another thing you could do to give your profile a personal touch is to pick a different portrait from the gallery, or even upload your own.

You can do all of the above, plus the possibility to choose a frame for your portrait, by tapping your default avatar visible in the top left corner of your screen, and pressing the little feather icon (see the above screenshot).

Keep in mind that the portrait can only be changed once every 3 days, so make sure you pick the right photo the first time.

Use your free daily attempts

Using the free standard guard attempts

Although it might seem that the UI of this game is filled with premium pack advertisements, it offers several great free rewards as well. Among them are the free recruitment attempts.

Each day you have 3 free Standard attempts that you can use to recruit guards, with a 5-minute cooldown between them. The Standard free attempts allow us to recruit Epic, Rare, and Common guards.

We also have a free Master attempt which includes Legendary guards as well, but the cooldown lasts around 2 days. Therefore, make sure you use them as soon as they become available.

Increase your Troop load

If you actively participate in events, completing missions and other similar activities in Guns of Glory, you will accumulate a nice amount of resources to fuel your game progression. But there is also a passive way to ensure you get more resources and level up fast in Guns of Glory, and that is by increasing the number of resources your troops can gather from resource tiles.

One of the easiest ways to increase your troop’s resource load capacity is to research the Troop Load 1 and 2 techs under the Development tech tree inside the Academy Building.
