Watcher of Realms has a massive collection of heroes and more of them are introduced progressively as your server expands. But did you know that each hero is a member of a faction? Choosing the right faction for your squad can help increase BP. This guide will explain the 8 factions available in the game and what benefits they offer.

We ranked the best factions in Watcher of Realms at the top of this list, but you should take a closer look at what each has to offer, so you can select the ones that best fit your squad’s needs and make the most of their bonuses.

What are factions for in Watcher of Realms?

Factions in Watcher of Realms are groups of heroes that can be used to form powerful squads. Each faction has its own lord heroes too. These heroes have special powers and can be used to unlock additional buffs for the entire squad.

Having multiple heroes of the same faction provides additional bonuses for your attacks and defenses, making battles easier.

There are 8 factions available: The Infernal Blast Faction, The Cursed Cult Faction, The Star Piercers Faction, The Esoteria Order Faction, The North Throne Faction, The Nightmare Council, The Watchguard Faction, and The Unnamable Faction. However, The Unnamable Faction is still in development as it only has one hero so far and does not provide any special bonuses.

Watcher of Realms Best Factions

Here are all the factions in Watcher of Realms, ranked according to their overall strength and usefulness in battle.

1. The Infernal Blast Faction

The Infernal Blast Faction, Watcher of Realms

In our opinion, Infernal Blast is the best faction in Watcher of Realms because it has the strongest single-target DPS heroes in the game. Heroes of this faction can deal massive Burst damage while they are under Focus Fire effects. The healers of this faction are quite essential too. They are capable of healing multiple ally heroes at once, while also providing great ATK boosts.

Collection Progress Bonuses

  • 4 Heroes: ATK +50
  • 8 Heroes: HP +200
  • 12 Heroes: Crit. DMG +5%

Lord Hero #1: Twinfiend (Legendary)

Lord Hero #2: Pyros (Epic)

  • Increases basic attributes of faction allies by 10%
  • When this hero casts the Destruction Command, all faction allies gain a Penetration increase for 10 sec.

2. The Cursed Cult Faction

The Cursed Cult Faction, Watcher of Realms

The Cursed Cult is another great faction in Watcher of Realms. It could have been the best faction in the game, but unfortunately, it only offers 2 collection progress bonuses instead of 3. Nevertheless, the lord heroes of this faction can be a great asset on the battlefield, especially when combined with debuffers and crowd-control heroes, to take advantage of their bonuses.

Collection Progress Bonuses

  • 4 Heroes: ATK +50
  • 8 Heroes: HP +200

Lord Hero #1: Morrigan (Legendary)

  • Increases basic attributes of faction allies by 15%.
  • Faction allies deal 30% more DMG to slowed, stunned, frozen, and immobilized enemies.
  • Increases AoE DMG dealt by faction members by 25%

Lord Hero #2: Aeon (Epic)

  • All heroes of this faction gain a 10% increase in basic stats
  • Faction allies deal 20% increased damage to slowed, stunned, frozen, and immobilized enemies.

Lord Hero #3: Niro (Rare)

  • Increases basic attributes of faction allies by 5%
  • Faction allies deal 15% more DMG to slowed, stunned, frozen, and immobilized enemies.

Background Story

The Cursed Cult is the Nightmare Council’s secret sponsor, and it is with their power that the Council managed to break free from the shackles given to them by the Watchguard. In exchange, the Cult has branded the Council members with mysterious insignias – markings that bind the Council to the Cult and ensure that should the Cult need anything, the Council will serve.

Watcher of Realms

3. The Star Piercers Faction

The Star Piercers Faction, Watcher of Realms

This faction is for those who wish to cover a larger area in battle. The lord heroes of this faction can be very powerful with their range boost and rage regeneration bonuses. But unfortunately, your boosts highly depend on the heroes you have in your squad and their attack choices, to get that juicy 50% stack DMG boost.

Collection Progress Bonuses

  • 4 Heroes: ATK +50
  • 8 Heroes: HP +200
  • 12 Heroes: Rage Regen (Basic ATK) +1

Lord Hero #1: Aracha (Legendary)

  • Increases basic attributes of faction allies by 15%
  • Faction allies gain an increase in Attack Range
  • Additionally, every time her allies attack units 1 tile beyond the original attack, they gain 5% increased DMG, up to 50%.

Lord Hero #2: Luneria (Epic)

  • Increases basic attributes of faction allies by 10%
  • Faction allies gain an increase in Attack Range

Background Story

The Watchguard and Star Piercers should be closer allies, but their negative perceptions of the other
prevent them from collaborating as often as they should, as each is eager to prove their own methodology is correct.

Watcher of Realms

4. The North Throne Faction

The North Throne Faction, Watcher of Realms

The North Throne faction is an interesting choice for those who want shorter revival times for their fallen heroes in battle and a good defense. This faction’s bonuses, however, are more about supporting and protecting your squad than dealing damage.

Collection Progress Bonuses

  • 4 Heroes: ATK +50
  • 8 Heroes: HP +200
  • 12 Heroes: Revival Time -5

Lord Hero #1: King Harz (Legendary)

  • The more faction members in the team, the more often this skill applies.

Lord Hero #2: Isolde (Epic)

  • All heroes of this faction gain a 10% increase in basic stats

  • Increases basic attributes of faction allies by 5%
  • Defense of the North: The same effect as Isole’s, but the shield is 10% instead of 20% and it lasts 15 sec.

Background Story

The North sees the Nightmare Council as a pitiful product of the Watchguard’s mistakes, and not a mistake that’s their responsibility to clean up. With the North’s more ruthless disposition, they would have killed the Nightmare Council instead of imprisoning them and blamed the Watchguards for their increase in power since breaking free of their shackles.

  • Basic attacks of faction allies have a 30% chance of dealing additional DMG 1 time,

Lord Hero #2: Wrath (Epic)

  • All heroes of this faction gain a 10% increase in basic stats
  • Defense of the North: All faction allies periodically gain a 20% Max HP shield that lasts 20 sec. The more heroes from this faction you have in your squad, the more frequently this effect triggers.

Background Story

Originally, the Nightmare Council was a group of demons founded by a fallen leader to loot and plunder in the name of entertainment and power. But when the Watchguard imprisoned them for years, the Nightmare Council grew stronger, because their hatred grew stronger. Torodor used power to become the new leader, and after making a deal with the Cursed Cult, they escaped.

Since then, the Watchguard has suffered many losses, and Rex stepped down as leader. But the future is still bright for them, and the world is in need of their heroism.

This faction is currently under development and has only one hero, Ajax. This means that it does not offer any collection progress bonuses at the moment, but we’ll keep you updated on any changes as soon as they happen.
