The basics in Sea of Conquest Pirate War

In Sea of Conquest, you take on the role of a pirate captain in search of adventure, treasure, and glory. You’ll navigate uncharted waters and deep-sea monsters, assemble your fleet, and customize your flagship to become the ultimate leader of the pirate world.

At its core, this game it’s a mix of strategy, PvP combat, and exploration, giving you an immersive and exciting experience, and is even more thrilling if you play it on PC.

The game’s interface and mechanics are quite similar to other strategy games made by FunPlus, such as Guns of Glory or King of Avalon, making it easy for new players to jump in and start playing. It is no doubt the most thrilling pirate mobile game out there!

A world filled with adventure and challenges

In this pirate mobile title, you will find yourself in a vast world full of exciting content such as islands, treasures, artifacts, shipwrecks, and more. But beware – danger lurks around every corner, from rival pirates trying to steal your loot to ferocious sea monsters waiting to attack your fleet.

And speaking of enemy ships, make sure you use the map’s search feature to find them easily. For that, tap the loop icon on the bottom left corner of the screen, and select the type of ship and its level by dragging the slider left or right. Likewise, zooming in or out with your fingers will make it easier to spot your targets.

Inventory, storage, and primary resources

Inventory and resources in the Sea of Conquest game

The game offers plenty of resources to gather and manage, such as gold, raw meat, wood, iron, maize, berries, and more. However, the 4 most important resources are wood, iron, gold, and emerald.

They are used to construct and upgrade cabins inside your ships, increase their level, and research new technologies – all essential for becoming a powerful captain. Some of them, as we covered in our list of essential Sea of Conquest tips, are required for cooking various food recipes to produce supplies for your crew.

These resources are automatically deposited inside your inventory, the little money bag located in the bottom-left corner of your screen.

Also here, you will find the storage icon which displays how many storage units are available and how many you have in total. Most of the items deposited here can be traded for gold in ports.

Flagships and formations

Ship Formations

The first 3-4 chapters of the game are pretty much just tutorials, and you only have one pirate ship so make sure you follow them closely to unlock different features. But as you progress and reach Chapter 5, you will have a better understanding of the game’s mechanics. That’s when you’ll unlock a second ship and an additional formation slot.

Each slot on the Formation page represents a different ship, its heroes, and its sailors. Similarly, each ship has 3 hero slots but the third one requires at least ship level 10 to be unlocked, so make sure you focus on leveling up your main ship first.

To get new ships, you will first need to reach Chapter 6. At that point, the ships button becomes visible in the main screen’s bottom menu.

From there, you can get new ships by collecting their corresponding fragments or purchase them with real money. On the same page, you can also increase the level of the ships you already own.

This operation will cost you gold and other primary resources like wood or iron but is worth it as it will make your whole fleet more powerful.

Mastering the battle mechanics

Hero skill ready to be used in naval combat in Sea of Conquest

Sea of Conquest offers 3 main types of battles and most of them are auto-resolved: two naval battles and one on-ship hero combat. However, for the most common one (the one you see in the above screenshot), you do get to choose when to trigger your heroes’ skill attacks.

You can do that by tapping on their avatars located just above the bottom menu. During each battle, you will also notice the enemy’s health bar at the top of the screen, as well as yours on the bottom-left side.

Make sure you keep an eye on those and try to use your skills wisely and as soon as they are fully recharged. For the other types of combat, power is the major factor, so make sure your level or overall power is higher than your rival’s before engaging in battle.

Upgrading and repairing your pirate ships

Upgrading the ship cabins

Your pirate ships can gain power in three ways in Sea of Conquest: by increasing their level, building and upgrading cabins, and enhancing or mounting various parts on the ship.

Increasing the ship level: this not only increases the stats and overall combat power of the ship but also unlocks more hero and formation slots, which also contribute to your ship and fleet’s strength.

Building and upgrading cabins: as mentioned earlier, the more cabins you have inside your ships, the more powerful they become. However, you also need to make sure they are frequently upgraded or repaired. Otherwise, they’ll get damaged during battles, making them ineffective.

Enhancing or mounting various parts on the ship: this is another way of boosting your fleet’s overall power. You can mount cannons, sails, figureheads (requires ship level 7), and other parts that will increase your ships’ stats and improve their abilities in combat. Just scroll up while on the cabin’s screen and tap any empty slot that says “Mount Here”.

Recruiting heroes and upgrading sailors

Upgrading heroes in Sea of Conquest

Heroes play an essential role in Sea of Conquest, as they are the ones leading your ships into battle and using their skills to defeat enemies. Each hero has a unique set of skills that can be used in combat, and some are more effective than others.

Make sure you recruit heroes with high combat power and useful skills to increase your chances of winning battles. Luckily, we already ranked the best pirate characters so you can better understand which ones perform pleasingly.

To get new heroes, you must first unlock the feature called “Lucky Draw of Rocky” which becomes available after completing a special task in Chapter 6.

Similarly, sailors also contribute to your ship and fleet’s power, so make sure you upgrade them whenever possible. You can level up your sailors by upgrading the “Drill Hall” cabin on the cabin screen. Upgrading sailors will increase their stats and provide bonuses for your ships.

Artifacts and treasures

Artifact challenges

Last but not least, we have artifacts and treasures. These special items can be obtained by completing chapters and exploring the vast sea in the Sea of Conquest.

They provide various bonuses and buffs to your ships and heroes, making them essential for improving your fleet’s overall strength. Make sure you always keep an eye out for these special items and collect them whenever possible.

There are 6 major artifacts to be discovered in this game, and you will need to complete a series of challenges to unlock them. Each artifact comes with a certain special power that can be used while exploring the sea.

For instance, the first artifact, the Golden Compass can be used 20 times a day to help you detect hidden treasures. On the other hand, the Storm Horn artifact can increase your ship’s sailing speed by 100% for 20 seconds and has a 20-minute cooldown.

In conclusion, this is a fantastic pirate and naval combat mobile game that offers a lot of depth and fun. Building multiple ships, upgrading cabins and parts, recruiting heroes, and collecting artifacts are just some of the features that make this game so enjoyable. Thanks for reading this guide, and we hope it helps you conquer the seas and become a formidable pirate captain!
