Brotato items are a vital component to succeed in the game, allowing you to maximize your character’s power, so you can clear as many waves of enemies as possible. These items have a powerful and unique combination of stats that massively increase your chances of success, especially when used with the right character and some of the best Brotato weapons.

Using the right items can make all the difference in your battles, but unfortunately, not all of them are worth the trouble. This guide ranks the best Brotato items, so you know exactly what to focus on and what will give your character the biggest boost.

Brotato Best Items to Unlock

10. Community Support

Community Support, Brotato item

The Community Support item is the least expensive item on the list and has a high potential to boost your character’s offense. With its attack speed bonus, it can easily increase your overall damage output and help you take down enemies quickly.

When used with the Streamer character, which gives a massive damage boost while moving, your hero becomes an unstoppable force. Although the armor is a primary stat, as we mentioned in our Brotato guide, the penalty that this item comes with is relatively minor and can be easily countered with other items and weapons. This makes this item a good choice for those looking to increase their damage early on.

  • Tier: Epic (3rd tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with the Streamer character
  • Cost: 75 Materials
  • Positive Effect: +1% Attack Speed for every current living enemy
  • Negative Effect: -2 Armor

9. Wheat

Wheat item in the Brotato game

This item can be a good choice if you plan on using a mix of melee and ranged weapons with your character. The +10 Harvesting stat gives you a significant boost to the amount of Materials you can get during a wave.

While the bonus damage may not seem much, it can make a difference when paired with the right weapons and character.

  • Tier: Epic (3rd tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with the Farmer character
  • Cost: 85 Materials
  • Positive Effects: +10 Harvesting, +4 Melee Damage, +2 Ranged Damage
  • Negative Effect: -2 Elemental Damage

8. Anvil

Anvil item in the Brotato game

Anvil is the least powerful Legendary item on our list because it can be a terrible item or a great good one – it really depends on your weapon choices and how often you recycle them. To get the Anvil item, you will first need to unlock the Arms Dealer character from recycling 12 weapons during a run.

The biggest drawback of the Anvil item is that it does not offer any stat boosts. Nevertheless, if you buy some of the best weapons after obtaining this item, you can easily upgrade them to the Legendary tier in only a few runs.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with the Arms Dealer character
  • Cost: 120 Materials
  • Positive Effect: A random weapon is upgraded when entering a shop. If you have no weapon to upgrade, you gain +2 Armor instead.
  • Negative Effect: None

7. Explosive Shells

Explosive Shells, Brotato item

The Explosive Shells item offers a great boost in damage for your explosive weapons like the Power Fist, Plasma Sledgehammer, or Rocket Launcher. The downside of purchasing this item is that it will decrease the overall damage that your character does with other types of weapons.

However, if you’re all about exploding enemies with your potato-slinging hero, then this item is an absolute must-have in the Brotato game.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with the Artificer character
  • Cost: 100 Materials
  • Positive Effect: +60% Explosion Damage
  • Negative Effect: -15% Damage

6. Gnome

Gnome item in the Brotato game

Gnome is a fantastic item if you are into melee weapons and characters that increase melee damage such as Gladiator, Bull, or Generalist. However, if you do have your character equipped with ranged weapons, this item should be avoided as its range penalty will significantly reduce your damage output.

It will also reduce your character’s pickup range, which means more effort to collect dropped materials and items during a fight session. On the other hand, if you are looking to get fully into melee combat, this can be a great item for you.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with Bull
  • Cost: 100 Materials
  • Positive Effects: +10 Melee Damage, +5 Elemental Damage
  • Negative Effects: -20 Range, -20% pickup range

5. Medikit

Medikit item in the Brotato game

Medikit is a great item to increase the survivability of your chosen character and therefore a higher chance of clearing more enemy waves. This item is essential especially if your defense is low, as it grants a decent HP regeneration per second.

The downside of this item is that it decreases your luck, meaning you will have lower chances of having better items dropped from enemies or having better rarity items in the Shop.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with Doctor
  • Cost: 90 Materials
  • Positive Effect: +10 HP Regeneration
  • Negative Effect: -10 Luck

4. Night Goggles

Night Goggles, Brotato item

Night Goggles is an amazing Brotato item that can make your ranged weapons more effective in combat. It also comes with a massive range increase, which means that your character’s ranged weapons can hit enemies from farther away.

The drawback of this item is that it will reduce both your character’s HP and Armor, but the numbers are so low that it should not be an issue.

If you are looking for an item that will help your character’s ranged attacks, then this one is definitely worth the effort to unlock and purchase.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with the Ranger character
  • Cost: 90 Materials
  • Positive Effects: +15% Crit Chance, +50 Range
  • Negative Effects: -3 Max HP, -2 Armor

3. Giant Belt

Giant Belt, Brotato item

What I really like about this item is that it does not come with any negative effects, yet it can offer a massive boost to your damage output if you manage to land critical hits on enemies.

Its price is also decent, so you can easily get it once you unlock Jack. The only minor issue is that you need to increase your character’s Crit Chance stat to make the most out of this item.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with Jack
  • Cost: 100 Materials
  • Positive Effect: Critical hits deal 10% of an enemy’s current health as bonus damage (1% for bosses and elites).
  • Negative Effects: None

2. Big Arms

Big Arms, the best item to unlock in Brotato

Big Arms is almost as great as Spider. It offers a nice mix of melee and ranged damage boosts. If you lean more towards using melee weapons with your character, then this item will be extremely beneficial.

The Armor and Speed penalties are relatively minor and can be easily countered with other items. When using this item for a powerful hero like Generalist or Jack, or other similar ones that we ranked in our Brotato tier list, it can result in a massive increase in damage output.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with Generalist
  • Cost: 105 Materials
  • Positive Effects: +10 Melee Damage, +5 Ranged Damage
  • Negative Effects: -2 Armor, -5% Speed

1. Spider

Spider, Brotato item

Spider is hands down the best item to unlock and equip in Brotato. This item not only gives a great damage increase, but it also helps your character attack faster. This makes it a must-have item for those looking to maximize their damage output and make the most out of every attack.

The only downside is the Harvesting penalty, but this should not be an issue if you have other items that compensate for it.

  • Tier: Legendary (4th tier)
  • How to unlock: Win a run with the Gladiator character
  • Cost: 120 Materials
  • Positive Effects: +12% Damage, +6% Attack Speed for every different weapon you have
  • Negative Effects: -6% Dodge, -8 Harvesting
