Stationing Heroes or development heroes in Rise of Castles, are often underestimated by many players when compared to combat heroes or are not used to their full potential. They are not needed for combat, but their abilities will help you construct buildings faster, reduce building or troops’ resource costs, boost resource productivity, and much more.
This guide will give you an in-depth overview of how to station your development heroes, and what to do to get the most out of them.
Usage and benefits
Before anything else, to use your development heroes, they need to be stationed in their respective buildings through the Town Hall building. Once they are stationed, they provide many benefits to your city when used efficiently.
In general, stationing heroes will help you construct buildings faster, reduce building or upgrading costs, increase troop training size or reduce healing costs, increase gold, and more. But all this depends on how much you level up your heroes and upgrade their skills.
How to station heroes
To station a hero you first need to tap the Town Hall building and access the Stationing Management page. There, you can station your heroes in the Military, Administration, or Noble tab. To do that, simply tap any development hero you have on these pages, and in the window that pops up, tap the Garrison button, which displays the required number of slots.
As for the Noble page, to station a hero here, use the left and right arrows visible on both sides of your screen, pick the one you want to station, and tap the Garrison button. Once the hero is stationed, his passive skills will be activated and will start providing benefits to your town.
Stationing Management
In the Stationing Management page, you have 3 tabs: Military, the page where you can station only military-related stationing heroes, Administration and Noble, both of which you can station development heroes for boosting resource productivity and other non-military-related benefits.
Each hero slot on the Military, Administration, or Noble page is reserved for a specific hero. The avatars of heroes displayed in black-and-white are those that you have not recruited yet, whereas the colored slots represent the stationing heroes that you have already recruited.
On the other hand, the Noble page is more like an extension of the Administration page. It includes 5 additional production stationing heroes that are not listed in the Administration section and allows you to station only 1 hero from these 5 since there is only 1 slot.
The Cost Capacity
Each hero requires a certain number of slots for stationing depending on its quality, green, blue, purple, or orange. The green-colored heroes require 1 slot, blue stationing heroes 3 slots, purple 5 slots, and orange (legendary) heroes, 6 slots.
Based on the current level of your Town Hall building, you have a maximum number of slots in which you can station your heroes. So the more you level up this building, the more heroes you can station, and therefore the more benefits you can receive.
The available number of slots can be seen at the top of the Stationing Management page, in the Cost Capacity field. In my case, as you see in this screenshot, I have 60 slots used from a total of 66 in my level 20 Town Hall.
Types of stationing heroes
Same as the combat heroes, there are 4 types of stationing heroes: Common (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple), and Legendary (orange). Depending on their quality, each hero has several skills and attributes for these skills.
The better the quality of the hero, the more skills and better attributes will have. The stationing heroes with the highest and the best skills are obviously, the legendary ones. However, the purple ones are also great and should be stationed and upgraded as well.
Skill upgrade
Upgrading your heroes’ skills is just as important as stationing them in their building. The first thing you want to do is collect as many Wisdom Medals as possible as they are used to upgrade your heroes’ skills. That’s all you need to upgrade their first skill. However, starting from the second skill, your hero level also needs to be increased.
You will also need and get duplicates of the same hero, for epic and legendary heroes, which will be transformed into Hero Medals. These Hero Medals are required to unlock the most powerful skills of your development heroes, not an easy task, but worth it if you’re looking to get the most out of them.
