The wait is almost over: Season 5 is coming to Last War Survival in just 11 days, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet. While Season 3 took us on a sunny adventure through ancient Egypt and Season 4 embraced the cherry blossoms of the samurai-themed Sakura Isle, this time we’re heading straight into the wild, west, the Golden Wasteland.
The main character for this season is Venom, who steps back into action as the Commander’s trusted vanguard. Venom is also the next SSR hero promoted to UR in Season five, a well-earned boost for one of the game’s most popular heroes.
But that’s not all. Season 5 brings new events, rewards, and powerful updates to shake up your strategy. Let’s dive into what’s waiting in the Golden Wasteland!
Season 5 Preview Stage

Before the main event begins, Season 5 kicks off with a 7-day preview stage packed with daily challenges. Each day brings a new task that helps players get familiar with the upcoming season. Completing these challenges will gradually unlock short descriptions of the key Season 5 structures, such as the Infinite Octagon, Warzone Outposts, and the Banks and Trade.
Every completed task rewards all players and alliances on the server, but the top 100 players are expected to earn even better rewards. The missions themselves are straightforward but time-consuming. You’ll need to hunt world map zombies, upgrade buildings, and complete radar tasks, among a few others. It’s a great warm-up before the real action begins in the Golden Wasteland.
Season 5 Boost: Which heroes, HQ skin and decoration will give you extra buffs?
Season 5 brings a fresh set of bonuses for those who know where to look. Let’s go over the heroes, HQ skin, and decoration that can give you an extra edge this season.

Right from the start, the featured Headquarters skin is Turkey Parade. But don’t confuse it with the new HQ skin that will become available for purchase at the end of Season 5; we’ll get to that in a bit. Along with its main stats, Turkey Parade offers three unique buffs:
- An extra reward slot when plundering supply trucks (you only need to have the skin unlocked, not equipped)
- A 2% profit bonus when plundering a Bank, one of the new Season 5 structures
- And finally, if you equip the skin, anyone who presses the like button on your base will receive a Turkey Gift, though what’s inside it remains a mystery for now
Next up, the Happy Turkey decoration boosts Bank deposits during Season 5. The bonus starts at 1% at level 1 and can reach up to 5% at level 5, so if you haven’t upgraded this decoration yet, now’s a perfect time to do it.
Finally, four heroes will gain a 10% damage bonus against monsters: Venom, Fiona, Stetmann, and Morrison. Keep in mind that not all of them will have this buff from the very beginning; these bonuses will be added gradually as Season 5 unfolds.
And as mentioned, Venom can be promoted to UR in season 5, so start accumulating those shards if you plan to upgrade him from SSR to UR.
Season 5 Resources and Buildings
The most valuable resource in Season 5 of Last War Survival is CrystalGold. You’ll be able to use it in the CrystalGold Shop to buy special items, and it will also be offered as a reward in various mini-events throughout the season. More importantly, CrystalGold is what alliances from different servers will fight over during the war stage of Season 5.

Besides CrystalGold, there are three new base-related resources: Coffee, Coffee Beans, and Special Coffee, each with its own purpose and production chain.
- Coffee is produced in Coffee Factories and is used to build and upgrade the Caffeine Institute, a new structure that increases your Virus Resistance, which is crucial for hunting zombies, doom elites, and rare monsters during seasonal events.
- Coffee Beans are used to build and upgrade Coffee Factories, boosting your overall Coffee production rate.
- The Caffeine Institute itself produces Special Coffee and can be used to further boost Virus Resistance and sometimes grant extra buffs for a limited time.
Just like in the previous two seasons of Last War Survival, there’s also a Protector’s Field, where units lost in battle can be converted into Desert Protectors. These elite units are extremely powerful but can only be used once per battle, so plan your strategy carefully.
Octagon Clash
This season, things are heating up with the Octagon Clash, where players from eight different warzones will face off on the same map to capture cities and earn Influence Points. The overall goal and mechanics are quite similar to past seasons, but with a Western twist and some new names.

In Season 5, the strongholds are now called Banks. Alliances must capture Banks (starting from level 1) and capture cities to expand their control. Once a Bank is taken, alliance members can plunder CrystalGold, the key resource of this season.
After a Bank is captured, players can also deposit their CrystalGold to earn interest over time, making it not only a battle for control but also a fight for economic advantage.
To be honest, I really like this idea, it adds a fun new layer to strategy and competition, and I can’t wait to see how it actually plays out once Season 5 begins.
Alliance Safetime and Battle-Ready Time
Last War Season 5 introduces two new systems: Battle-Ready Time and Alliance Safe Time, to make battles fairer and more manageable for players in different time zones. Since alliances from eight warzones will share the same map, these systems help prevent nonstop fighting over cities and strongholds.
Battle-Ready Time

- You can’t attack or declare war on cities and strongholds at any time anymore. Battles are only allowed during three fixed 1-hour windows each day.
- These three Battle-Ready Time slots are spaced 7 hours apart, meaning there are only 3 total battle hours per day.
- To declare war on a city, it must be during one of these time slots and on specific War Declaration Days (Wednesdays and Saturdays).
Alliance Safe Time
- Fighting three times a day can still be too much, so alliances can choose to disable one Battle-Ready Time slot each day. That disabled slot becomes their Safe Time, when they can’t be attacked.
- This gives members a longer rest window, from 7 hours up to 15 hours of peace.
- Even though every alliance sets its own Safe Time, there will always be at least one overlapping battle slot where alliances can still fight each other.
- Safe Time means your alliance can’t be attacked, but you can still attack others if they’re not in their Safe Time.
Alliance leaders should choose their Safe Time carefully, as changing it after the season starts is limited; it can only be changed on Mondays, has a long cooldown, and takes effect the next day. During the pre-season period, however, these restrictions don’t apply, allowing alliances to test different time setups.
Season 5 rewards

Season 5 of Last War Survival comes packed with some of the best rewards we’ve seen from Season One up to Season Four. The highlight this time is the new Headquarters skin called Tycoon’s Mansion. Equipping this skin grants a 5% Attack bonus, while simply unlocking it gives your base an extra 5% HP and Defense boost.
There’s also the God of Judgement decoration, along with New Era Recruitment Tickets, Armament Cores, and many other valuable items. The exact rewards you’ll receive depend on your alliance’s final ranking at the end of the season; the higher your alliance places, the better the loot.
What makes this season even more exciting is that rewards are split into two categories: Regular and Challenge. The Challenge rewards include not only more items but also exclusive limited-time titles: Immortal Challenger, Legendary Challenger, Epic Challenger, and Elite Challenger, each available for 30 days.
And that wraps up the Season 5 preview guide! The Golden Wasteland is full of surprises, powerful heroes, and fierce competition. Let me know in the comments: are you ready to take part in Season 5?
