Upgrading Scarlett to UR is probably the biggest challenge of Season 3, just like it was with Violet in Season 2 and Mason in Season 1. Scarlett can be converted to UR from the 14th day of the third season. And yes, you can still convert her to UR when Season 3 is done.
So in this guide, I will show you how to convert SSR Scarlett to UR, compare her stats between the two versions, and explain why this upgrade is so important for your progression in Season 3.
So why is Scarlett so special for Season 3?
The first reason why Scarlett is so valuable for Season 3 is her second skill which reduces the damage from monsters by up to 34% over 9 seconds, if you manage to push her to 5 stars.
And by monsters for season 3 I mean the mummies. These are basically the 3 regular types of zombies but much more difficult to defeat as they will inflict a lot of damage if your Curse Resistance (the season-specific requirement for monsters) is not at least equal to the required number for a specific zombie level.
You’ll also come across Golden Scarabs, three types of Sandworms, doom elites which are now in the form of giant scarabs, and last but not least, the mighty Wandering Mummy Warlords which drop amazing rewards and resources for this season.
The second reason why Scarlett is a great hero for Season 3 is her 5% damage reduction bonus against monsters, on top of the mentioned 34%. Plus, her third skill offers her a stunning 100% increase in defense, a skill that becomes even more valuable after the UR upgrade, which we’ll see in a bit.
And by the way, that 5% bonus applies to your entire squad, not just to Scarlett. All these monsters hit very hard, which is why it is crucial to have powerful attackers backed by defenders or any other type of hero with damage-reduction skills or bonuses. And one of the most important ones for this season, as I said, it’s Scarlett.
How to promote Scarlett to UR?
So how to make Scarlett a UR hero? As I mentioned, this feature is only available in Season 3 and unlocks 14 days after the season begins. To use it, you need Scarlett upgraded to 5 stars and a Legendary Hero Badge. This is why it’s so important to increase her tier as much as possible before the event begins.
If you haven’t upgraded Mason or Violet to UR yet, you can use badges from Season One or Two. Otherwise, you can get a new badge from the Individual Goals page in Season 3 after upgrading the Curse Research Lab to level 30.
Speaking of the Curse Research Lab, make sure to hit the subscribe button so you don’t miss my next guide, where I’ll explain everything you need to know about Season 3!
How do you get Scarlett Shards?
The only way to collect Scarlett SSR shards is via the Individual Goals page from almost every new level of your Curse Research Lab.
You get 10 shards from levels 2 to 19, 20 from levels 21 to 24, and 30 shards from Curse Research Lab levels 26 to 29.
Unfortunately, it seems more difficult to collect these shards this season because we don’t have them included in Alliance Store yet as we had with Violet and Mason. I also haven’t seen any similar mini-event such as the Blizzards in Season Two where we could collect Violet shards if successfully kept the base unfrozen.
But we’ll see, it’s still too soon to draw any conclusions. Developers often introduce surprise events or updates as the season progresses, so there’s still hope for an alternative way to gather shards. But if you know any other way to collect Scarlett shards, feel free to share it in the comments below!
Now let’s compare her back-to-back on both rarities and see the differences.
Scarlett rarity comparison

So starting with the first skill, we have a double increase in Physical Damage from 735% of the SSR version to a stunning 1487% for UR. It’s also mentioned now that this will be applied to a single target, which was unclear for SSR Scarlett. In any case, this skill only will deal some massive damage to your opponents..good stuff.
Now for the second skill, I’m a bit disappointed. For the SSR version, we have an impressive 34% max boost in damage reduction against monsters for the entire squad. Well, for the UR version, this skill has changed completely.

The good news is that it applies to any type of battle, whether it’s against other players or monsters. The bad news is that it only works on Scarlett and one adjacent unit, meaning the second defender right next to her.
If multiple adjacent heroes are present, this skill will prioritize the back-row hero close to her. I’m not sure if that means having a third defender behind Scarlett or an attacker too. But anyway, what I don’t like much is the bonus change. For the UR version, Scarlett only gets 24% defense while the adjacent hero gets 6% more.
Moving on to her third skill, we see a similar change but unfortunately, still does not affect the entire squad. From the 100% defense bonus for SSR Scarlett, we see 75% for her on the UR version, and 37.5% for one adjacent hero.

I think this change is useful, especially in PvP battles such as attacking other players’ bases, intercity trades, battlefields, arenas, champion duels and any other type of battles against other players.
Lastly, her fourth skill also gets a nice improvement for the UR version, from a 10% to a 20% increase in HP, Attack, and Defense, plus an additional 10% decrease in skill cooldown, which means she’ll cast her skills more often.
So is it worth upgrading Scarlett to UR rarity? Absolutely. As we can see, her skills get a major boost which makes her even more valuable in battles and events. Leave a comment below and tell me if you’ve already upgraded her or if you consider upgrading her to the UR rarity.
