Coal and Titanium Alloy are the most valuable resources during Season 2 of Last War Survival. These two special resources are essential to your progress through this major event because you’ll need them to level up the season buildings.
You’ll need Coal to level up the Titanium Alloy factories, and Titanium Alloy to level up the High-heat Furnace. This is the most important building in the second season because it increases the base temperature during the brutal blizzard events that constantly hit the world map. In this guide, I will cover all you need to know about these resources and describe some of the best ways to collect them.
9. First Blood reward (Zombies and Doom elites)
The easiest way to get Coal for your Furnace is by attacking Polar Zombies on the map. These new monsters have replaced the regular ones in Season 2, and they are harder to defeat. To win, your VR (Virus Resistance) must be the same or higher than the required level for the specific Polar Zombie. If your VR is too low, you’ll lose a lot of troops and likely lose the battle.
When you defeat a Polar Zombie for the first time, no matter which of the three types, you get a special reward called “First Blood.” You can collect this reward by tapping the small gift box icon on the world map.
In Season 2, these zombies are divided into three categories, just like the heroes: Aircraft, Tank, and Missile Vehicle. This helps you know which heroes to use against which zombie type, boosting your chances of winning. This strategy is part of the Troop Type Counter bonus, which you can find in the squad window.
Personally, I use the same heroes in all three of my squads. However, if you find it hard to defeat a certain type of Polar Zombie, even when your VR is high enough, then using the right hero type can help.
For example, Tank heroes take less damage from Missile Vehicles, Missile heroes are stronger against Aircraft, and Aircraft heroes do more damage to Tank heroes or zombies.
8. Supply Collection
In the “Supply Collection” section, located at the bottom of the Season 2 page, you can see how many supply boxes are left on your server. These boxes only appear when the temperature of a specific area reaches 0 degrees or higher, which happens after your alliance captures a city or when you move the Alliance Furnace to a new location.
To collect these supply boxes, you need to send a recon plane by tapping on them. You can gather up to 5 treasures per day, and they’ll be stored in your inventory.
Keep in mind that each treasure can only be claimed by up to 10 players, so you’ll need to act quickly, especially if there aren’t many left after a city is conquered.
7. Special Radar Missions
You can also get Coal once or twice a day from a mission called “A Distressed Survivor” (see the screenshot above). This mission usually has a purple rarity, but occasionally it can be orange, which gives you even more Coal and probably a UR rarity survivor.
Even the purple mission rewards are impressive, usually over 170,000 Coal, though this may depend on your radar level.
To make the most of it, try to complete as many radar missions as possible daily. This can be easily done now, especially with the addition of the “Quick Perform” button that allows you to complete multiple missions at once quickly.
6. Dig Site Production
Captured Dig Sites provide the most Coal every day, based on the number and level of the Dig Sites your alliance has captured.
To collect the Coal they produce, go to the Alliance menu, then to the Alliance City, tap on the “Produces Coal” tab, and press the “Claim All” button. Each alliance can only hold up to 4 Dig Sites at a time. If you want to capture a higher-level city, you’ll need to abandon one of your current Dig Sites. Higher-level Dig Sites generate more Coal per hour.
5. Polar Dishes
Polar Dishes is one of the best ways to gather Coal during Season 2. This event begins on the first day of the second week and runs until the end of the season. During the event, you can collect four special ingredients: flour, meat, milk, and veggies, which are used to create recipes for a cute puppy named Snowflake.
If you make the exact recipes Snowflake requests, you can earn up to 650,000 Coal. For any random recipe that isn’t on Snowflake’s list, you still get 500,000 Coal.
To find out which ingredients are needed for the current recipe, simply tap the “Recipe” button at the top of the screen. You can collect ingredients by completing your Daily Tasks and opening all five task chests, with each chest giving you a different ingredient.
After opening the fifth chest, you’ll receive an Ingredient Choice Box. Go to your inventory, tap “Use,” and select the ingredient you need for the recipe.
If you want to double the rewards from the Daily Task chests, focus on leveling up the Engineer profession to level 55 to unlock the “One More” skill, which allows you to get twice as many ingredients. If you have extra ingredients you don’t need, you can also trade them with your allies by using the “Trade Ingredients” button at the top.
4. Season 2 Individual Goals
Season 2 also offers individual goals that reward you with Coal for upgrading your Furnace, although the amounts are smaller compared to other methods. For example, you receive 2,000 Coal for upgrading the Furnace to level 1, which can help at the start but won’t be nearly enough as the season progresses.
At Furnace level 29, the reward is only 30,000 Coal, far less than the 50,000 Coal needed for Alliance Furnace donations, not to mention the 2 million Coal required to upgrade the High-heat Furnace to level 29.
On the bright side, along with Coal, you also earn other valuable rewards like Titanium Alloy, Hero’s Return Recruitment Tickets, Profession Skill Reset Books, and lots of Violet Shards.
3. Gate Visitors
Gate visitors can sometimes offer you Coal, though it only happens once or twice a day based on our experience, and the amount of Coal they give is quite small compared to other methods. Still, make sure to tap on these visitors daily because sometimes they bring new survivors along with them.
Also, if you want an extra survivor, consider leveling up the “Random Visitors” skill in the Engineer profession at level 50. This skill gives you an additional survivor of random type and rarity, which can be useful. We’ve ranked the best Engineer skills in another guide, so make sure you check it out.
2. Season Battle Pass and Weekly Pass
The Season Battle Pass and Weekly Pass are paid subscriptions that give you extra rewards on top of what you already get from completing season tasks.
The Season Battle Pass, for instance, includes two extra reward sections, giving you more Coal, Profession XP, Skill Points, hero recruitment tickets, and gems, among other items.
The Weekly Pass is different, it’s not tied to any specific season tasks but still provides extra daily rewards like stamina, 20,000 Coal, and speedups. When you activate it, you also receive 250 extra VR points and a Titanium Alloy factory.
These benefits last for one week, and you can choose to purchase the pack again once the time is up. If you’re only planning to buy the pass once, it’s better not to focus too much on leveling up the fifth alloy factory and instead prioritize the other four.
1. Blizzard Individual Goal Rewards
Blizzards are short events that start on the first day of Season Two and last for just a few hours. Each blizzard has different levels, and the higher the level, the colder it gets. Higher-level blizzards also offer better rewards, as long as your base doesn’t freeze.
You still get a small reward though, but is not even close to what the reward for keeping your base unfrozen offers. Your base will freeze if the temperature drops below -20 degrees.
When your base hits -20 degrees, a 5-minute countdown begins. Once the timer runs out, your base will freeze, and you won’t be able to use Advanced Teleporters or start rallies.
To unfreeze your base, you need to raise the temperature by turning on the furnace overdrive or asking your allies to help warm it up. After the blizzard ends, your rewards will be sent to your event folder in your mail.
