Most of us are familiar with the power of UR legendary heroes in Last War Survival Game. But what about those Epic and Rare ones? In this guide, I will rank and discuss the top Epic (SSR) and Rare (SR) heroes that might surprise you with their skills and utility in the game. And yes, for competitive gameplay, SSR heroes may not perform as well as the UR ones, but as we showcased in the video below, you will be amazed at how effective some of these Epic heroes can be (at least in the early to mid-game battles).
As always, in the S tier, you will find the best heroes, and in the C tier, the ones with the weakest skills and base stats. Let’s dive into our tier list and discover which Epic and Rare heroes are worth investing in for your ultimate zombie-slaying squad and PvP battles!

As you will see in this video, Mason is undoubtedly one of the best Tank-type damage dealers in Last War Survival, in some cases even overperforming UR heroes like Kimberly and Murphy (watch the next video to learn how).
Now, I must say that he had a significant advantage over the two mentioned UR heroes as we increased his star rating to 2. He is great for not only the early game but also for the mid game once you upgrade him to UR rarity.
The same applies to Violet which has a great blend of defense and attack skills and becomes even stronger in player-vs-player battles if you promote her to UR.

Mason is absolutely one of the top-tier SSR heroes in Last War Survival game. His incredible damage and powerful AoE attacks make him stand out among even some legendary heroes. Plus, his second skill greatly boosts back-row tank-type heroes against monsters, making him a must-have for any PvE team. Mason is also the first hero to be promoted to UR, which makes him a great pick to get ready for Season One.

If you’re looking for a unique SSR hero to add to your team in Last War Survival Game, Monica is the one to consider. She not only provides a valuable resource boost for your entire team after defeating regular world map zombies, but she also offers strong damage-dealing skills against them. With a 5-star upgrade, she becomes even more powerful. She helped us easily clear stages 80-94 when we replaced Farhad with her on our team.

Violet is easily the most versatile SSR hero in Last War Survival. She performs extremely well in zombie battles and in early PvP fights. Although I was not happy with her UR boost in the Second Season because the UR version is a bit more focused on PvP, she still offers enough power and great skills for clearing zombies on the world map or the Districts/Armed Truck Exploration Quests.
